Went to the Corn Palace!
Thought of Rabago and Michael when we were there, it is actually a
community center, which is cool – and the art work was pretty amazing
considering it is all made our of parts of the corn. Had a great time.
Left there and drove on to the Badlands – What a very
pleasant and unexpected surprise. They
were beautiful – I had no idea. I will
write more on them later, just trying to catch everyone up on where we have
been so far, will go back and write specifics on our journey as I can. But they were breathtaking, around every corner, Charlie and I kept saying.. "look at that!" " Wow", and "this is Beautiful".
We were able to use Charlie’s National Forrest pass to camp
and to get in, which meant the camping was just 14.00 a night. We had electricity, so we could turn on the
AC, which was good since there was no shade.
Went out later that day after it had cooled off and got to
walk out on the hills, bluffs, not sure what they are called, but wow! They are so very pretty. Took lots of pictures and came back to have
dinner. Since we had electricity, I made
baked penne and toast with olive oil. We
took a short walk and cleaned the windshield.
We have decided to stay another day so we can totally see the
Badlands. Tomorrow we will take DiDi out
for that. Very glad we brought a
small car along. I will load these
entries now, we are at a rest stop with internet, and I will add the rest
later. We are having a wonderful time!
So excited to see the addition of all of these blogs! Amazing photos, too. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Love to you both!
