Leaving Glacier and we made it easily across the boarder and then just kept going. The area was very flat, which surprised us both, and we saw some cowboys herding a huge herd of cattle next to the highway. We actually saw several people riding horsed to do various things along the road.
When we got to Calgary, which is a HUGE city, we found a Best Buy and I went in to see about buying a new SIM card for the phone. A very helpful young man in electronics made the phone work! It was totally operational error, not T-mobile this time, and now we can send and receive texts. I thanked him profusely and offered to buy
him lunch. While I was in there, Charlie found someone who could fix the crack a flying rock had made in our
windshield – and had it fixed by the time I was done in Best Buy! It looks great. On northward...
For lunch we split half of a subway sub, and Charlie stopped
at A&W so I could get a draft root beer.
It was great and reminded me of Arkansas.
Bought gas in Bowman AB, not sure how much since it was in liters, but
bunches, based on the cost. It is 115.9
a liter up here for any of your math wiz’s who want to figure that out….
Made it to Spruce Grove and headed to a Wally world for the
night. Did some grocery shopping, made
dinner ( finished off the chicken and peppers from the other night) and went to
sleep early, around 10:30 and it was still light outside.
I am sure we will be headed
out bright and early tomorrow so we can make it to Dawson Creek, which is mile
zero of the Alaskan highway.

ReplyDeleteCheri, I love your blog! I feel like I'm there with you. Although you have been too close for my comfort to the bears. The wildlife you two are seeing is amazing, just like Wild Kingdom back in the day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this journey, safe travels my friend. M
