HARRISON BEENE LOWDER
This entry is dedicated entirely to Harrison Beene
Lowder. For those of you who do not know Harrison, he is the son of Larry and
Hannah Lowder, and his mother is one of my oldest and dearest friends. She and
Larry have raised a fine young man in Harrison.
Harrison just graduated from Hendrix College in Conway
Arkansas. He has been accepted at Kings
University in London, and will be attending there beginning in September of this year. He plans to
get a Master’s degree in some sort of Psychology ( didn’t listen very well did
I ? ...or maybe it is just "old age brain"…) and hopes to apply to medical school
after completing this course of work. I
know his mother is a fine doctor, and I am sure he will be too. Hopefully he
will come back to the States to attend Medical school so we will get to see him and
visit with him, and hear all about London.
I have known Harrison since birth and even though he
grew up in Arkansas, and we were in Virginia, we were able to keep up with what
was going on with him and watch him grow into the nice
young man he is today. Charlie and I
attended his High School graduation four years ago and we still talk about
what a fun time we had.
Harrison is the proud owner of a signed ticket by Ben Harper
and he drives a Black Tahoe. Harrison is
currently dating a nice young lady named Anna who also graduated this year and
may attend the University of Arkansas (Go Hogs!) next year and obtain a Masters degree of her own in ? forensic archeology?
Harrison likes to cook and helped Hannah Beene and I make the
Bridesmaid’s luncheon for Hannah Lynn A few years back. He is also fond of crosswords and quite good at completing them. He and Caroline have shared this hobby when
they have had the chance to work them together.
Harrison has a quick wit, a sharp mind and a kind
heart. He has traveled to India to do
mission work and enjoyed both the opportunity to help and the opportunity to
learn more about another culture. He
loves spicy food and the last night in India was able to eat with a local
family and loved the spiciness of their food.
The hot sauce with the rooster on it is his favorite brand of hot sauce
now that he is back in the States.
Harrison is / and was a wonderful host, entertaining Charlie
and I until his parents got home, and then hanging out with us during dinner
and later in the evening. He is a joy to
be around, very respectful of others, and I consider it an honor to call him my
extended family and to lose a bet to him -and I always pay my debts.
Thank you for sharing your time with us Harrison.
Sounds like his dad
